Regulators

Capital.com was founded in 2016 in Limassol, Cyprus. An international CFD broker covering forex, stock CFDs, indices, commodities, metals, cryptocurrencies, ETFs and bonds, with more than 5,500 instruments.

Regulation

The group holds five regulator licences: FCA, CySEC, ASIC, SCA (UAE) and SCB Bahamas. Clients from Mexico are served by Capital Com Online Investments Ltd under licence SCB Bahamas SIA-F245 (company number 209236B). Mexico has no dedicated retail-CFD regulator: CNBV oversees banks and securities markets but does not cover retail CFDs, and CONDUSEF handles complaints only against entities licensed in Mexico. Escalation for a Mexican client therefore goes through the broker's internal procedure and then the SCB Bahamas.

Platforms and instruments

A proprietary web platform, MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5 and TradingView integration. More than 5,500 instruments across forex, shares, indices, commodities, metals, cryptocurrencies, ETFs and bonds.

Account opening

Registration includes an onboarding questionnaire about employment, income and the amount the client plans to invest. Capital.com runs an appropriateness assessment based on these answers; the process is comparatively long, and a real account may be declined if the profile does not match CFD trading.

Trading conditions

  • Standard: deposit from $10 by card or Apple Pay, no separate commission (spread-only model), dynamic spreads

Maximum leverage is set per asset class and can be lowered in account settings: up to 1:200 on currencies, indices, commodities, bonds and interest rates, and up to 1:20 on shares and cryptocurrencies. Swap-free mode is available. There is no trading commission; spreads are dynamic and adjust to market conditions. An overnight funding adjustment applies to positions held overnight (unleveraged 1:1 positions are exempt on most markets, except Natural Gas, US Cocoa, the Volatility Index and forex pairs with the Turkish lira). A currency conversion mark-up of 0.7% for retail clients (0.5% for Pro) applies when an instrument is denominated in a currency other than the account currency. Guaranteed stop-loss orders are available; a premium is charged only if the order is triggered. Negative balance protection applies to retail clients: the account balance cannot fall below zero, and losses are capped at the funds available in the account.

Payments for clients from Mexico

  • Visa, Mastercard: deposit and withdrawal (withdrawal returns to the same card up to the deposited amount)
  • Apple Pay, Google Pay: deposit and withdrawal
  • Skrill: deposit and withdrawal
  • Neteller: deposit only, withdrawal not available
  • USDT: deposit and withdrawal
  • Bank transfer: deposit and withdrawal, minimum 50 EUR or equivalent; profits above the deposit are paid to a verified bank account in the client's name

Minimum deposit is $10 for cards and Apple Pay. Minimum withdrawal is $20 on cards and varies by method. Capital.com charges no fees on deposits or withdrawals; bank or payment-system fees may apply. Withdrawals follow a return-to-source policy: funds are returned via the method used to deposit, up to the deposited amount, and the payment account name must match the trading account name. The account can be opened in USD, EUR, GBP or MXN.

Localisation and support

The website and educational materials are available in Spanish; the trading platform interface is in English only. Support is provided through live chat, WhatsApp and phone; the published phone line is a UK number (+44), with no dedicated Mexican line.

Additional programmes

Spread rebates refund part of the spread paid, with the percentage rising by trading volume and varying by asset class: for forex and precious metals 5% up to $50m, 10% from $50m to $150m and 20% above $150m; for commodities 5% up to $30m, 15% from $30m to $150m and 20% above $150m. MetaTrader activity is not currently included in rebate calculations. Investmate is the broker's educational app, available in Spanish. Information and payment security follow the ISO 27001 and PCI DSS frameworks.
